This bean salad recipe has the fresh crisp flavor of summer with fresh peppers and corn. You&#8217;ll love the hint of chili and in &#8211; but don&#8217;t worry, you don&#8217;t have to make this bean salad recipe too spicy &#8211; you can make it to your taste by adjusting the seasoning.</p>
<p>This salad can be made with any type of bean. In this video, Rita uses Chick Peas, Kidney beans and red beans, but you could use any type. Black beans, white beans or red.</p>
<p>This simple salad gets some crunch from celery and chopped bell pepper, roasted corn as well as a few green onions. Rita always talks about &#8220;Cooking by Color&#8221;. A great way to get veggies in to your diet.</p>

Terrific Taco Salad<br />
(Makes 4 servings)</p>
<p>An excellent source of fibre, vitamins A &amp; C, calcium and iron. Plus, it tastes amazing!</p>
<p>1 medium onion, chopped<br />
1/2 lb lean ground beef<br />
1/2 package of Old El Paso seasoning mix<br />
(about 2 tablespoons)<br />
1 can kidney, pinto or black beans,<br />
drained and rinsed<br />
1 cup frozen corn<br />
6 cups lettuce, chopped<br />
(about 1 large head)<br />
2 medium tomatoes, sliced into wedges<br />
1/2 cup shredded Colby Jack cheese<br />
1/2 cup of salsa (as spicy as you like it!)<br />
1 tbsp light sour cream (optional)</p>
<p>Spray large frying pan with cooking spray (like Pam) and warm over medium heat. Add onion and beef and cook until beef is browned. Add taco seasoning, beans and corn and stir until well mixed. Lower heat and simmer until mixture is heated throughout (about 5 minutes). Place some lettuce on each plate and spoon meat over top. Add tomatoes, cheese, salsa and sour cream.</p>
<p>Health Hint: Mix iceberg with darker green lettuces like romaine or red leaf to boost the vitamin content of your salad. Drop the beef for a great vegetarian meal!</p>

A stream where many fish spawn lost most of the vegetation along its banks. This occurred at the beginning of spawning season, and there were significant rain storms after the fire.</p>
<p>a-fertilized fish eggs will be suffocated under mud and debris carried by runoff from the stream banks<br />
b-mud from the stream banks will add nutrients to the water for newly hatched fish<br />
c-the water in the stream will get clearer because the trees will not drop as much material into the stream<br />
d-carbon from the burned trees will fall into the water of the stream and purify it<br />

<p>RECIPE</p>
<p>1 Pack Family Size Kraft Mac and Chz<br />
1/3 of The 32oz pack of Velveeta Cheese in a box<br />
2 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast<br />
Olive Oil<br />
Crushed Red Pepper<br />
Black Pepper<br />
Browing Caramel<br />
Zatarains Creole Seasoning<br />
1/2 cup Milk<br />
8 Cups Water<br />
7 TBS Margarine<br />
2 Slices of Cheddar Cheese ( the ones in indivual plastic)<br />
Seasoned Italian Breadcrums (optional)</p>
<p>1. Cook Macaroni as the directions list on Mac and chees box takes like 8 minutes</p>
<p>2. AFter draining water off pasta, mix in the milk, margarine, powder cheese sauce, velveeta cheese.</p>
<p>3. Let that simmer and continue to stir</p>
<p>4. Wash chicken breast and slice them into strips</p>
<p>5. Heat up a little Olive oil just enough to lighlty fry the chicken</p>
<p>6. Season chicken with sprinkles of ( just eyeball the amts) Creole seasoning, crushed red pepper, black pepper, and a little brwoing caramel to add color to chicken.</p>
<p>7. Fry on medium until golden browinsh then drain off oil in papertowel on side.</p>
<p>8. Pour the mac and cheese in a round baking pan</p>
<p>9. Lay the chicken slices on top to cover the mac and cheese</p>
<p>10. Break the cheese slices in peices and lay them on top of the chicken</p>
<p>11. Spriknle some italian breadcrumbs on top (optional)</p>
<p>12. Bake on 350 degrees for 5 minutes</p>

<p>WASHINGTON &#8211; The archaeologists were delighted to at last find the remains of George Washington&#39;s boyhood home but got stumped when they looked for evidence of the cherry tree and rusty hatchet.</p>

<p>&quot;This was the setting for many important events in Washington&#39;s life,&quot; David Muraca, director of archaeology for The George Washington Foundation, announced Wednesday.</p>
<p>Most biographies offer little detail of the first president&#39;s youth, so the discovery may provide insight into Washington&#39;s childhood, he said. The site is located at Ferry Farm, just across the Rappahannock River from Fredericksburg, Va., about 50 miles south of Washington.</p>
<p>Philip Levy, associate professor of history at the University of South Florida, found evidence that the house was a one-and-a-half-story residence perched on a bluff overlooking the river.</p>
<p>&quot;If George Washington did indeed chop down a cherry tree, as generations of Americans have believed, this is where it happened,&quot; said Levy. The researchers said the artifacts they have recovered did not include a hatchet.</p>
<p>&quot;There is little actual documentary evidence of Washington&#39;s formative years. What we see at this site is the best available window into the setting that nurtured the father of our country,&quot; Levy said.</p>
<p>Three likely locations were excavated over seven years. The site where the foundations of Washington&#39;s home were discovered was built during the first part of the 18th century — Washington was born in 1732 — fit the type of house in which Washington would have lived and also yielded artifacts likely linked to his family.</p>
<p>&quot;Now that we have identified the home, we can begin understanding Washington&#39;s childhood,&quot; Muraca said, as well as dispel some of the folklore surrounding the president&#39;s life. For instance, the tale of Washington&#39;s chopping down the cherry tree with a hatchet and confessing to his father has never been proven.</p>
<p>&quot;We see a county-level gentry home,&quot; he said. Washington&#39;s father &quot;was wealthy within the county &#8230; not on the colonial level but locally important, and we see a home befitting that status.&quot; The house measured about 53-feet by 37-feet, with a central hallway and two rooms on each side of the hallway.</p>
<p>The eventual goal, Muraca said, is to rebuild the home as it was in the 1740s.</p>
<p>Levy and Muraca spoke at a teleconference organized by the National Geographic Society, which helped fund the work. Research at the location has continued for seven seasons.</p>
<p>The 113-acre Ferry Farm — itself a National Historic Landmark — was known as the former home of the Washington family, but previous attempts to locate the house itself had been unsuccessful.</p>
<p>Most of the wood from the home was reused by builders on other structures or was damaged in the Civil War, and part of the foundation eroded away, the researchers said.</p>
<p>But after digging through layers of dirt the archaeologists found two chimney bases and stone-lined cellars and root cellars.</p>
<p>The cellars held a large number of artifacts including pieces of the house&#39;s ceilings and painted walls, fragments of 18th century pottery and other ceramics, glass shards, wig curlers and toothbrush handles made of bone.</p>
<p>Muraca said they also recovered larger objects such as pieces of a tea set that probably belonged to George&#39;s mother, Mary Ball Washington; wine bottles, knives, forks and 10 pieces of a group of small figurines that might have stood on a mantel.</p>
<p>They also discovered a well-used pipe bowl, blackened from smoking, that was marked with a Masonic crest. Washington joined the Fredericksburg Lodge of the Masons in 1753.</p>
<p>&quot;While we can&#39;t say that this was George Washington&#39;s pipe, we can wonder about it,&quot; Levy said.</p>
<p>And there were burned remains of a fire at the farm on Christmas Eve, 1740, which Washington mentioned in letters. During the Civil War the farm served as a staging site for Union soldiers attacking Fredericksburg.</p>
<p>Washington was known to swim in the Rappahannock and to take the ferry to Fredericksburg and grew to adulthood at the farm. But he spent less time there as he got older.</p>

The Constitution is a legally binding document, so that the state cannot override the will of the people. It has served the will of the people and facilitated the will of the people spaciously in some instances like Mum Bett, and erratically or not at all at other times -an example is limiting the right to assembly peaceably  and now with the undermining effects of the &quot;patriot act&quot;.</p>
<p>What worries me is the Constitution is being exploited and mined of it&#39;s strength by special interests that are hell-bent on gaining control of the interests of the US and bending the people to their will in order to do so.</p>
<p>Like, The First Amendment guarantees freedom of assembly, the right of citizens to gather peacefully. And that was a tool meant for the people to cause a little trouble and protest in order to bring about political change. Did you know that many cities require payment from people who wish to assemble??? And nowadays it is a crime to assemble without prior authorization. This totally strips the power of uniting in assemblage!</p>
<p>Another example is the how the patriot act has been used to undermine our most fundamental civil rights.<br />

The &quot;Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism&quot; Act, was signed into law by President George W. Bush on October 26, 2001. The stated purpose of the law is to &quot;deter and punish terrorist acts in the United States and around the world, to enhance law enforcement investigatory tools, and for other purposes.&quot;<br />

A Justice Department draft of a proposed addition to the USA Patriot Act, the Domestic Security Enhancement Act of 2003, was obtained by the Center for Public Integrity. This proposed act will give &quot;the government broad, sweeping new powers to increase domestic intelligence-gathering, surveillance and law enforcement prerogatives, and simultaneously decrease judicial review and public access to information.&quot;</p>
<p>Ooops there goes all of our civil rights, now we live in a police state, where the military judges themselves and judges CAN NOT protect us from their unbridled power.</p>
<p>What worries me the most are the many people who have drank the kool-aid and have been cowed into believing they will not be heard. What these people seem to not realize is that if enough people voiced concerns together to the right people using the right channels -they would be listened to, moreover, they could change the course of this present trend and history by reimpowering the consitution and the People of the United States -exactly as Mum Bett did 227 years ago.</p>
